Master KG’s ”Jerusalema” Sidelined On South African music awards 2020 Nominees
South Africa’s Limpopo’s finest Makhandzi and Master KG were left out of this year’s South African Music Awards (SAMAs26) nominees shortlist, a move many have criticised on so many levels.
The two Limpopo talented artists each released hot hits that made airwaves nationally and internationally. Hits such as Amatorokisi by Makhadzi and Master KG ‘s Jerusalema did not make it to the shortlist albeit claims by the artists that they did submit their music for nominations.
South Africa’s biggest arts and music awards SAMA will have its 2020 26th edition ceremony virtually due to lockdown restrictions that prohibit public gatherings.
A full list of this year’s SAMAs26 nominees was released last Thursday and put up for a public vote in preparation for the five-night ceremony to be held between 3 and 7 August this year.
But, south Africans has responded with nepotism, tribalism and favouritism allegations and criticism towards the South African premier music showcase.
