She joined the media industry in 2016 as a TV presenter for a show called Kumwesu on Zambezi Magic, because it has always been her passion to be in media and she saw no reason of not doing something what she loves to do. On the other hand, she is planning to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, if she did not end up in the media industry, she would have been a psychologist.

In 2018 Shakirah joined the acting industry, and she has only featured in one movie called zed man where she played lead role by the name of Samba. She later featured in the blockbuster local drama called Mpali were she plays the 6th wife Tamara, the slay queen who loves things to be handled to her on a silver platter.
She finds her role in Mpali to be in between an easy role and hard role, it’s more of a fun role and like an outer ego.

Frank Sibukku the director of Mpali and Zed Man looks at Shakirah as a very talented lady and someone who will excel with her talent.
“He who strives, will succeed” is a saying that she lives by and she advices young people who look up to her to live by it too and always strive. They should put their very best in everything they do and the universe will definitely give them the best returns. Therefore, they should work hard and be the best of themselves they can be.
