12 points too high for many unemployed youths – Kaunda
Zambia army recruitment, LUSAKA Province PF vice youth chairman Kelvin Kaunda has appealed to the Ministry of Defence to remove
12 points as one of the qualifications to be recruited in the Zambia Army and Zambia Air Force.
Kunda said while appreciated that learned people should be in the service, he feels the bar been set to high.
He says a lot of youths are unemployed and don’t have 12 points to qualify to apply for recruitment.
“I am appealing to the ministry of defence to reconsider its descition to have applicants who wish to join the Zambia Army and Air force to have 12 points,
everything else is okay but the issue of one must have 12 points, how many people or youths have 12 points.
those 12 points must be clinical officers,” he said.
“So let the ministry of defence reconsider its move, as Lusaka province vice chairman,
I am appealing to the minister of defence to to re-look at that move.
